Hi all,
Whether casual gamer or not, I believe tips below can help you enjoy the game better as you understand your character abilities more.
These tips are shared by members and are helpful when you are soloing PVE or in dungeons with clan mates, they are simple stuff that some of us might not have realized but eventually helps to improve survival rate.
Like what Konbo sensei says " You you die, your DPS is 0 " So survival is the key.
Feel free to post a reply if you have more to contribute and share.
By knowing these simple tips, you can enjoy better dungeon runs too. So lets start:
General Tip:
When joining a dungeon party, ask if you are required to knock down or stun. These 2 skills are commonly used to counter bosses and are crucial to the success of the dungeon run.
Common terms "Double Stun" refers to executing 2 skills which has stun one after another so you stack 2 stun effect on the boss. (Same for Double knockdown)
More importantly, ask if there are bosses that you shouldn't do stun, knockdowns or knock up skills at certain times. Some bosses upon such skill will trigger high damage attacks.
WARLOCKS
- When to use (2) Soul Shackle & (X) Tether Blade
Imprison & Normal Wingstorm will require warlocks to be stationary when casting. Use Soul Shackle and Tether blade to bind or knock down opponents so you can cast without interruptions.
- Crossing Sogun Lament 1st Boss River of Death :
Press (Z) Bastion which allows crossing about 5 seconds, at the end of it, turn character back facing the direction you are crossing towards and press (S) (S) to Rush Backwards 10 meters to complete the crossing.
- Going Beyond 3 Skill Rotation
Warlocks have high burst skills. Unfortunately, many are unable to chain them together to form effective and long lasting damage burst. Most players are likely to chain perhaps 1 to 2 or 3 rotations at most. So i thought i can share my rotation which i can do at least 7 rotations minimum. Read Warlock Class (PVE Skill Rotation Guide by Azureliz) for more info.
- Mantra for Bombardment Spam
At Tier 3 Stage 1, this skill recovers 15 focus allowing you to spam your right click Bombardment.
- Quell (Block Spell) Repeated Use
At Tier 1 Stage 1 (Allows repeated block)
At Tier 2 Stage 1 (Allows repeated block + 2% HP for 5 secs.)
If you feel that the 2% HP gain for 5 secs is not worth it, you can choose to remain at Stage 1 Tier 1 so that you can dedicate the skill points for other skills. This depends on how frequently you even use the block skill.
- Bombardment (Right Click Skill) HP vs DMG
At Tier 3 Stage 3, this skill absorb 10% damage as HP. Use this if surviving is a problem.
At Tier 3 Stage 2, this skill inflicts additional 999-1111 damage frost damage on instant cast.
- Bastion (Iframe skill Z) Optional HP
At Tier 2 Stage 1, this skill can provide a 5 second iframe to resist damage & status effect
At Tier 3 Stage 1, it can give you an additional 5% HP recovery (optional if survival is an issue)
- Sanctum (Resist skill C) HP vs Status Resist
At Tier 3 Stage 1, this skill resist knock down for 6 secs but gives 9% HP for 6secs.
At Tier 3 Stage 2, this skill resist knock down, daze, stun for 6 secs. No HP recovery.
Test the recovery skill to see if it is helpful. If not, switch to Stage 2 Tier 3 for more status resist.
- OnRush (Thrall) Double Knock Down (Not recommended)
At Tier 1 Stage 1, this skill can taunt enemies for 3 seconds, making it a good crowd control skill.
At Tier 2 Stage 2, this skill adds on 2 secs stun and decrease cool down by 6 secs.
At Tier 2 Stage 1, this skill knocks back enemies for 11m, then applies a 1sec knock down.
Timing this knock down with your button X tether blade knock down is extremely difficult. During battles, you can hardly see the animation due to tankers up front with monsters special effects. Worst of all, the knock back distorts the tanker's aggro mobs making it difficult to coordinate in dungeon party. Not recommended unless you like to keep distance while solo-ing.
SUMMONER
- Resetting Monster Aggro
When running in a path where many monsters awaits, you can use your main character to run in directly to attract aggro. Just before the monsters strikes you, hit your Q (Crouching tiger Tier 3 stage 2) skill to have your Cat take the aggro instead. At this point, your main character can start running away. Your Cat will auto reappear beside you once you run out of its range.
